Snow, beer and nakedness. Are we at Marist?
Not much to do on days like today. April 2nd...Spring Break...and...
It's rare that we get a day of snow in April, but it does happen. It's nothing to stress. It's annoying, but nothing more than that. The fact of the matter is that it wasn't a bad winter at all. It was hardly cold and the snow didn't come for the last few weeks. Though it wasn't before it seems to be sticking on the ground now. Hopefully no more limbs come down off the trees. Honestly, I'd love to get to see Scotland in the winter when there is some snow. The mountains are often snowcapped and the pictures look perfect - just enough snow, where it is supposed to be and you can lock ourself inside and stay warm by the fire.
The last one did some damage - we got a small hole in the carport and a limb hit Jess' car and knocked the handle off the passenger side of the car. Given the amount of limbs that were on the carport, it could have been much worse. Thankfully, it wasn't. We are supposed to have soccer this coming weekend - if this doesn't clear off, we are not going to practice. Of course, I am coaching this year and to make matters worse, we have a commitment to march in the Tartan Day Parade in the city. Same day as the opening of the soccer season.
If you don't know me, I like beer. A lot. The last time we were in Scotland, we managed to drive near a few craft breweries. I don't remember the names of all of them but I definitely remember Black Isle and they had some good stuff. Thankfully, now there is an interactive map with all the breweries and it is much easier to line them up with places that we will be. Black Isle was a bit in the middle of nowhere, we went after hiking and they had some horses on the property next to them. It was a pretty good day.
Just another day with the Clan MacNeil.

One piece of planning that is actually proving slightly difficult is the amount of information that is on the net now. Sounds stupid, right? It's actually true. Just like trying to sift through other information, you have to cross reference and look at a bunch of sites to determine what is and is not worth you time. I have been using a bunch of sites:
There are a few must see castles for me this year. Castle Stalker, Castle Sween, Caerlaverock and Bothwell Castles. I'm also really looking forward to Inchmahome Priory which is on an island on Loch Lomond. I don't think we are going to get to Iona on this trip - guess it just means that we will have to head back again in the future. Hopefully, Jess reads this so that she can be sure that these sites are all on the trip.
Yesterday was Easter - oh the difference a day can make.
We had a good day at my sister's house with both sisters, their families and my parents. Pretty mellow. These guys got up and housed the egg hunt - a bunch in the house and then some outside. They were pretty excited and I think we kept a good balance of gifts and whatnot - nothing too crazy.
Now the fun begins - a week at home with these three - despite the snow, Jess is sending Malcolm to his program at the Y. Neil and Malcolm made up lists of things that they have to do every day. Hopefully that will help to keep them on track. Right now, Neil is naked and getting dressed in the living room. He was playing the drums on his belly and dancing. Duncan just smacked his ass. Prior to that, Duncan was putting Malcolm's underwear on his head...because Malcolm had just done that to him. D-1: It reminds me of my days at Marist.
Just another day with the Clan MacNeil.
